Jaume Balaguer\u00f3<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n

Film Director<\/strong><\/p>\n

After having filmed the short films “El ni\u00f1o bub\u00f3nico” (1991) and “La invenci\u00f3n de la leche” (1993), he directed “Alicia”, his first short film on celluloid, with which he was able to grumble. The short film made a great impression at the Sitges Film Festival and won the best short film award.<\/p>\n

Balaguer\u00f3 made his feature film directorial debut with “Los sin nombre” (1999), based on a novel by Ramsey Campbell. The film was presented at multiple film festivals around the world, collecting several awards including the Best Film Award at the Fantasy Festival (the most important fantasy film festival in North America).
\nThree years later, Balaguer\u00f3 returned to Fantas\u00eda with “Darkness” (2002), the first film that the Catalan director filmed in English.<\/p>\n

The third film of Balaguer\u00f3, “Fr\u00e1giles”, premiered in 2005. In 2007, Balaguer\u00f3 began the work of filming “REC”, his fourth film that would be followed later by “REC 2” (2009).
\nFor his thriller “Mientras duermes” he won the prize for Best Director.
